Описание к видео Kids Edition | Asia’s Arboreal Animals - Animals that Lives in Trees

Hello, today we will learn about several animals that are called arboreal animals, that means they spend of their lives living in trees. These particular ones are more specific to regions around Asia.
Okay, get ready, ….Let’s go.

Gibbons (Hylobatidae family)
Gibbons are known for their incredible speed when swinging through the trees. They can move as fast as 55 km/h (34 mph) while brachiating, which is their method of swinging from branch to branch using their long arms. These primates are also monogamous, forming strong family bonds. Interestingly, they sing duets with their partners, creating loud, melodic calls to mark their territory in the forest.

Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens)
Red pandas are skilled climbers, using their long, bushy tails for balance while navigating the treetops. They even curl their tail around themselves like a blanket to stay warm when resting in the cold mountain forests. Despite sharing a name with the giant panda, red pandas are not closely related. They belong to their own family, Ailuridae, and are more closely related to animals like weasels and raccoons.

Flying Squirrel (Petaurista spp.)
These squirrels are amazing gliders rather than flyers. With a membrane between their front and hind limbs, they can glide between trees to move through the forest. Flying squirrels are nocturnal and communicate with each other using high-pitched calls that help them stay in touch while moving through the dark forest canopy.

Langurs (Semnopithecus species)
Langurs are highly social primates that live in large groups, sometimes including up to 50 individuals. They use various vocalizations to communicate with each other, especially to warn the group of any nearby predators. These primates are mostly herbivores, feeding on leaves, fruit, and flowers, and their digestive system is adapted to break down tough plant material.

Bornean Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus)
Orangutans are known for their remarkable intelligence. They are known to use tools, such as sticks, to extract food like termites and honey from tree trunks. Female orangutans have one of the longest birth intervals of any land mammal, giving birth once every 7-9 years, which contributes to their endangered status. Most of their lives are spent in the trees, building nests to sleep in and using their intelligence to adapt to their environment.

Alright everybody, that was some fun, quick learning about some of these spectacular tree living animals of Asia.
Don’t forget to like and subscribe, keep up and learn daily. See ya.
