The previous surface was tarmac but this is not great for some sports as it is a hard surface and in schools children could injure themselves more on it. The school decided to transform their pitch into an artificial multi-purpose surface. When this surface was installed, it would of had to be tested to make sure that it meets the safety requirements, to find out more about the testing process, click on the link above.
