Corriganville in 1962

Описание к видео Corriganville in 1962

Corriganville was used for filming many popular westerns. From 1949 to 1965 it was open on weekends to the public as a western themed amusement park. During its busiest time in the late 1950s approximately 22,000 guests visited each weekend. In its heyday attendence of this park rivaled Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm. It was a huge tourist attraction, akin to present day Universal Studios, that many current residents didn't know existed.

Corriganville Park is now owned by Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District. The foundations of the buildings that once stood are still there, and signs indicate what movies were filmed there. The park is now primarily used for its hiking trails.
