In this video, I explain compression for beginners or people looking to level up their understanding of compression for audio and music production. This will cover all of the basic controls - such as threshold, ratio, make-up gain, attack, release, and knee. I am using the stock compressor inside of Logic Pro but these controls and parameters are universal for most compressors. Watch until the end to get a list of my favorite settings.

Threshold: -18dB
Ratio: 3:1
Make-Up Gain: +2dB
Attack: 18ms
Release: 50ms
