Hamdard University, in collaboration with Idara Nazria-e-Pakistan (INP), Lahore, hosted a remarkable photo exhibition in the Bait al-Hikmah Library lobby on showcasing numerous rare photographs documenting the Pakistan Movement.
The exhibition, inaugurated by Prof Dr Engr M. Aamer Saleem (Dean, Faculty of Engineering Sciences & Technology), drew hundreds of students from Hamdard University and Hamdard Public School. Senior INP official Professor Zahid Javed personally guided visitors, offering detailed historical insights into each photograph.
The large, mounted photographs brought history to life—depicting milestones from the establishment of the All India Muslim League in 1906, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s London visits for the Round Table Conferences, his oath-taking as Pakistan’s first Governor-General in August 1947, and his address to the first Constituent Assembly. The collection also celebrated the crucial roles of youth and women in the struggle for independence.
Alongside the exhibition, INP’s book stall offered historically rich publications at cost price, promoting a reading culture among the youth. Students showed keen interest, deeply engaging with the photographs and expressing appreciation for this rare opportunity to connect visually with Pakistan’s liberation journey.
Such initiatives not only preserve our national heritage but also inspire the next generation to value the sacrifices and vision that shaped our homeland.
