Discarded plastic bottles are being transformed into clothing, blankets, caps and various new products by a Chinese company trying to come up with a new way to tackle the waste problem. The company called Goodcycle had collected more than 2 million plastic bottles as of September 2025. Some of the company’s products are being delivered to students in remote village schools. China has been criticised as one of the largest contributors to plastic pollution. By some estimates, it produces one-fifth of the world’s single-use plastic and has struggled to implement sufficient waste management or recycling.
