You went under the water. You came back up. Everyone clapped. The pastor said "welcome to the family of God." But nothing inside you actually died.

Let's talk about the most dangerous assumption in Christianity: believing baptism equals salvation. It's possible to be baptized, confirmed, church-committed, and still be completely unsaved.

Jesus warned about this in Matthew 7:21-23. Many will say "Lord, Lord" on that final day—pointing to their baptism, their church attendance, their religious activities. And He'll say: "I never knew you."

Not "I used to know you." Not "you drifted away." "I NEVER knew you."

✝️ THE CRITICAL TRUTH:
Baptism is a SYMBOL. It's an outward sign of an inward reality. But if the inward reality never happened—if your spirit was never resurrected from death to life—then the symbol is empty.

You went underwater. But you came up the same person. And "the same person" isn't saved.

Salvation is transformation. Death and resurrection. Old gone, new here.

⚠️ THIS ISN'T ABOUT PERFECTION:
Born-again believers still sin. They still struggle. They still fail. But there's EVIDENCE of spiritual life:
• Sin bothers them (conviction exists)
• They hunger for God's Word (even if inconsistently)
• Prayer becomes natural (not perfect, but present)
• Fruit grows over time (slow but real transformation)
• They think about eternity (perspective shifts)

The question isn't "Am I perfect?" The question is "Am I different? Is there any evidence the Holy Spirit lives in me?"

🙏 WHAT TO DO IF THIS CONVICTED YOU:
Don't trust your baptism. Don't trust your church membership. Don't trust the prayer you prayed at twelve years old.

Trust only Christ—His death for your sin, His resurrection for your life.

Get alone with God right now. Confess that you've been coasting on religious ritual instead of relationship. Ask Him to genuinely save you. Surrender everything.

If you prayed that honestly, everything just changed.
