Love ❤️ Rescue me by U2 as a Chord Melody arrangement for guitar 🎸. This is a lovely ballad that appears on U2's Rattle and Hum album.
I've arranged this song 🎵 one because I 👍 like it but secondly as a teaching tool. The song is 3 Chords with the Melody and it's a slow tempo. Perfect for beginners trying to work out how they too can play Chord Melody. Throughout the arrangement I've used triads. Nothing else. The Melody is on the bottom E String and I've used triads principally on the Bottom 3 strings of G, B and E.
What's helpful I hope is that Triads in all inversions across the neck are really helpful to get you started in Chord Melody. And a ballad is helpful as you can play at slower tempos. Another principal when starting out in Chord Melody is to make your arrangement playable for yourself. You don't have to play a Chord under every note of the Melody. That makes arrangements hard to play. Aim to make the Melody shine and harmonise the parts of the song 🎵 that need it. I do hope you find these suggestions helpful.
