Dalai Lama Leaves New York for Switzerland. Early Friday morning, hundreds of Tibetans and supporters lined up the street in Elmont, NY, to see off the Dalai Lama and his entourage leaving for Switzerland. The Dalai Lama is on his return to India via Switzerland after spending two months in the U.S. after receiving knee treatment. Yesterday the UBS Arena was filled with crowd capacity of 17,000 including Tibetan communities of North America and American friends and supporters to offer prayers for his long life.
