We all have stories but who gets to tell yours? In Australia some voices are louder than others, and some struggle to be heard.

In October 2022, Hamilton: The Musical and rapper, producer, and poet Joelistics, came together to hold a once-off workshop featuring special guest facilitators Lyndon Watts , Julian Kuo and Emmy Saheki from the cast of the Melbourne production of Hamilton, The Musical. Emerging and established writers and creators with a lived-experience of the workshop’s core themes were encouraged to apply to participate and tell their story.

Built around the theme of ‘Who tells your story?’, the workshop guided participants through a creative journey, telling their personal stories of diaspora, belonging, and community, developing and unlocking new writing, performance, and storytelling techniques.
