Let's continue our work on our Caravaggio reproduction, also known as Doubting Thomas. We can appreciate Caravaggio's brilliance in selecting the central focus point to be the expression on Thomas's face at the precise moment he recognizes that Jesus is standing before him. The beauty of Thomas's expression is captured perfectly in the original, and achieving the overall effect in our recreation will require several passes to perfect the gray layer on his face and poking hand. You'll be able to take your time on this first round and concentrate on creating a superficial likeness. We will have ample time to refine the details when we return to this section after it has dried.
