Congratulations on your new GTS1500 small trash compactor, a powerful, modern, and efficient urban-sized indoor trash compactor from Global Trash Solutions.

Step 1: Unpacking the Unit

The GTS1500 small trash compactor will arrive on one pallet with an included Rubbermaid dolly. Make sure the indoor trash compactor is delivered on a flat surface next to a curb to allow for safe and stable transfer off the pallet.
To unpack the compactor, you’ll need:
• Tin Snips
• Box Cutter
• Drill with Phillips Bit
• Protective Eyewear
Put on protective eyewear before cutting the binding snaps from around the GTS1500 indoor trash compactor.
Use the drill to remove the wood blocks holding the unit in place on the pallet. Inspect the unit for damage. Unlock the locking casters and roll the unit off the pallet.
We recommend that two people roll the unit off the pallet and into the desired position.

Step 2: Installing the GTS1500 Small Trash Compactor

The GTS1500 has a footprint of 36” wide by 78” tall. You need at least 60” of clearance for the doors and waste bin loading and unloading.
Once situated, it is time to power up the indoor trash compactor. The GTS1500 requires a 110V 20 Amp dedicated line with a 20 Amp receptacle outlet plug.
Release the lower door latch and open the lower door. Remove the manual, PVC pipe and box, containing two 50 count rolls of waste bin liners for you to store for future use.
Using the PVC pipe, install one roll of liners in the cradle located behind the upper door. The phone number to reorder bags is on the inside of the upper door.

Step 3: Setting up the GTS1500

Take time to familiarize yourself with the keypad, called the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The up and down arrow buttons will move the compactor plate up or down as long as the button is held down or until the travel limit is reached.
The “compact key” is located on the 1 button. Press and release this button to launch an automatic compaction cycle. The compactor plate will move down, pause for 5 seconds, and return to the top.
The “clean key” is located on the 3 button. Press and release this button to launch the clean cycle. The compactor plate will travel halfway down and prompt the operator to begin cleaning. Make sure to clean the unit daily in order to maintain the warranty. After cleaning the plate and closing the door, the compactor plate will automatically rise to the ready position.
Enter the numeric PLC code 1194 and press enter. Your compactor is now ready for use.

Step 4: Operating the GTS1500

Open the load door by pulling on the latch. Place 1 to 3 bags of trash inside the unit. Press the 1 button to start the compaction cycle. Repeat this process until the waste bin is full. The PLC display will tell you when the waste bin is full by displaying “Trash Full Empty Bin” on the screen.

Step 5: Emptying the GTS1500 Small Trash Compactor

Ensure the front 2 locking casters are locked into position. Open the lower door by releasing the lower side door latch on the bottom right-hand side of the compactor. Pull outwardly on the handle to unlock.
Wheel the Rubbermaid dolly up to the GTS1500. Grab the pull cord on the waste bin to slide it onto the dolly. Tie the waste bin liner shut. Remove the waste bin sleeve from the waste tray in an upward motion.
Roll the trash cube over to the dumpster. We recommend using two people to lift the trash cube from the tray and dolly and toss it into the dumpster.
Put the hard-plastic waste sleeve back onto the waste tray, place a new waste liner into the waste bin, and slide it back into the GTS1500 compactor. Close the door and lock the side latch. Store your Rubbermaid dolly under your GTS1500.
You are now ready to begin a new compaction cycle.
