In a conflict so characterised by bipolar 'on-message' propaganda drawn along ethnic and religious lines, I believe it all the more important to highlight the views of those that can empathise with the other, and speak out based on their universal values above religious identity.

I feel that the line of questioning during the interview comes across as loaded (and a bit 'loony left') and that Siegman is a lot more convincing when his arguments are born out of compassion and equality rather than being staunchly anti-administration. Overall though, his is the type of understanding and reasoning that is deafeningly missing in US current mainstream media.
