Today I continue the Great Fedora Spins Experiment by taking a proper look at the Budgie desktop environment. After my test PC rebuild plans went sideways and I moved to VMs on my Mac, this series took a bit of a turn. So this video is about bringing things back on track and focusing purely on the desktop experience itself.

I explore what Budgie looks like straight from the official Fedora ISO, how easy it is to theme, tweak, and customize, how the panel system works, and how app discovery feels using Discover. I also install software, run updates from the terminal, test the file manager, check out the system monitor, and play with basic window management.

This is all done from a real noob-to-Linux perspective, using Budgie in a VM, which makes it perfect for anyone who is curious about Fedora spins or thinking about leaving Windows. What really stood out to me was how clean and familiar Budgie feels. Most things make sense visually, and translating Windows habits to Linux feels surprisingly natural here.
