The Nightmares Behind the Doors of Perception by Il Terrori Notturni is the first single from the bands breakout album Psychedelic Nightmare released in 1969. Written by lead guitarist Innocenzo Graziano, who says the song was inspired by an LSD experience he had while living in San Francisco, the original recording was 28 minutes long but was cut before the album release. Il Terrori Notturni have only played the full version of the song once, that was in 1972 during their infamous concert at the Coliseum in Rome when 70 000 drug addled fans rushed the stage and set fire to the building causing major structural damage.
