Hagibis MC100 Portable SSD Enclosure for iPhone - Unboxing, Tests and Impressions

Important:
The Hagibis MC100 is just the SSD enclosure. You will need to buy a separate M2 SSD to use alongside it. I use the Western Digital SN770M M.2 2230 NVMe Gen4 SSD and it works great.

Update:
I discovered that also included in the extra accessories are two adhesive steel rings that can be stuck to a non magnetic surface so that the magnet functionality of the Hagibis can be used on it. You could use it on non magsafe compatible phones to use them with the Hagibis but do note that the length of the default wires are made to be used with iPhones.

Additionally, the "blu tack" substance is actually a heat dissipating material you're supposed to use by peeling the plastic off and inserting it between the ssd and the lid.

Extra Details:
The MC100 has also has two variants, the lite model which does not have a super capacitor and the pro variant that has an additional USB C 2.0 port should you need it.

Partitioning and Formatting:
To make the Hagibis and Western Digital usable by both PC and the iPhone, it must be partitioned and formatted after the SSD has been put into the enclosure.

I followed these instructions to partition my drive:
First open the Command Prompt, press Windows + R, type cmd and click OK.

1. In the Prompt type DISKPART, when it opens, DISKPART will appear on the left.
2. Type LIST DISK, this command will list the hard drives installed on the machine, pay close attention not to choose the wrong hard drive.
3. Type SELECT DISK “X”, in place of the X put the number for the HD you want to format, put without quotes.
4. Now just type the commands below and press Enter at each command.
5. Commands:
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
SELECT PARTITION 1
ACTIVE
FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK
ASSIGN
EXIT

I then formatted the Drive in exFat format because I use a Windows PC with an iPhone. If you use a Mac with the external ssd, you should format it in APFS for less risk of data corruption.
