A classic alien themed light gun game from Konami, Teraburst was first released to arcades in 1998.

Game play consists of battles against an assortment of aliens and mechs. Some of the aliens look like something out of the Predator film franchise, while others have a more comical appearance with rounded heads and large purple eyes.

Boss battles are generally against mechs, some of which resemble certain types of creatures, such as a giant mech spider for instance. You also battle tanks as well.

Besides a standard gunner, players are also equipped with a homing missile and a powerful napalm bomb. With the homing missiles, You latch onto enemies to set a target, and you can target multiple enemies at a single time.

More so than aliens, you battle a ton of mechs in this game. All of the bosses are mechs, and there's numerous mech like creatures, such as the spiders. The end boss is a giant alien/mech hybrid of some sorts.

This certainly isn't the first alien themed light gun game, and one could certainly think of others that were comparable, such as Midway's Invasion: The Abductors, Area 51, and of course the Aliens franchise titles, like Alien 3: The gun, Aliens Armageddon and Extermination, among others.
