Removal of a fairly large epidermal cyst on the elbow

This cyst had been present for quite some time but owing to differences in medical access, in different countries, had never been dealt with. This patient was present with her son but I am always more nervous when there is a significant language barrier present. This is not because the procedure is any more or less difficult, obviously, but consent is critical to any procedure and in order to get it, it is absolutely critical that there is a complete understanding of what is going to happen and what could potentially go wrong. Similarly, during the procedure itself, the patient must be able to communicate with us and that was somewhat less than optimal in this case. Regardless, the removal was otherwise fairly standard.
