Nitrous Oxide is the third most used drug by 16-24 year olds. Also known as NOS or ‘Laughing Gas’, it has now been reclassified as a Class C drug, carrying a potential sentence of up to two years for possession.

In Birmingham, Nitrous Oxide users congregate in cars to do balloons - a pastime that has led to one of the highest hospital admission rates in the UK for neurological issues. Patients present with symptoms such as dizziness, tingling in the hands and feet and, in extreme cases, inability to walk.
