South Korea's export growth continues its recovery momentum -- far outpacing that of its global counterparts.
While global exports have risen 9-point-2 percent on-year during the first nine months of 2017,... Seoul has posted double-digit growth.

According to the data released by the World Trade Organization on Sunday, South Korea's exports grew at the fastest pace out of the world's top 10 exporting countries over the first nine months of the year.
Thanks to an upturn in global demand, Korea's exports grew by 18-point-5-percent on-year to record 4-hundred-30-billion U.S. dollars of exports from January to September 2017, outpacing both the United States and China-- the top two countries in terms of total exports.

September was a particularly good month, with Korea's exports growing by 35-percent from the month before,... outpacing the Netherlands, which had the second fastest growth rate, by over 20 percent. Korea's strong growth rate for September, which was more than three times the global average, helped the country regain 6th place in the overall export rankings, after it fell two spots in the previous year.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy attributed South Korea's strong performance... to the economic recovery in advanced and developing countries, and rising demand for information technology products like semiconductors.
However, it also laid out concerns that trade protectionism and uncertainty surrounding oil prices could adversely affect South Korea's exports in the remaining months of this year.
