Kampuchea Preah Reacheanajak Achharayak (Cambodia Kingdom of Wonder)

Cambodian Kingdom of Wonder is a new choreograph dance combined with Cambodian Classical dance, Traditional and Pop dance. Dancers are scholarship Cambodian students and member of Cambodian Students Group at Chulalongkorn University (CamCU). All six dancers are engineering and veteran’s students who have no any basic knowledge of dance before study in Thailand. With love and desire to promote Khmer culture, they worked hard together to make this piece of dance happen. Movements in this dance served as body languages to interpret the meaning of the song that talk about Cambodia as a county rich of culture. Movements mainly adapted from Cambodia classical dance and traditional dance to follow the fast music of Cambodian pop dance. In the middle of the performance, 3 female dancers play as sculpture represents well-conduct women and goddess as curved at temples in Cambodia. At the end, all dancers lift up a flag to show solidarity of Cambodian student’s abroad especially Cambodian students study in Thailand. Finally, “Wherever we are, we are Khmer.”
