AMSU Organises Picnic-cum-Calendar Launching Programme 2025 at Pasighat

Pasighat, Dec. 28:-The Adi Mising Students’ Union (AMSU), under the banner of the Adi Mising Porin Kebang, organised a Picnic-cum-Calendar Launching Programme–2025 today at Piiyu Tierra Resort, Bodak, with the theme “Unity, Brotherhood and Togetherness.”
Shri Talem Taboh, Hon’ble MLA of 32-Rumgong, was scheduled to grace the occasion as the Special Guest and Calendar Launcher. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, the Hon’ble MLA could not attend the programme.
The programme began with a welcome address by the Women President of AMSU, Smt. Oyong Takoh, followed by a soulful solo song performance by Shri Ajoy Saroh.
Addressing the gathering as the first speaker, Shri Arnold Tayeng, Chief Advisor, highlighted that education, socio-economic development, and cultural activities remain common agendas of both the Adi and Mising communities. He emphasized that a united AMSU would emerge stronger and lead to greater progress in the future. He further added that identifying and understanding the origin of the community is vital for the younger generation.
Shri Obi Gao, President of AMSU, stated that with the advent of the New Year, both organisations should move forward positively and resolve any differences through mutual understanding. He reiterated that, as per records, the origins of both tribes are the same.
Shri Muhim Pao, Secretary, remarked that the calendar should convey a strong message of unity and be circulated in every village so that the purpose of its launch is fulfilled. He also noted that the Chief Guest, who sponsored the calendar, would be pleased with its outreach. He further urged collective support on issues related to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in Arunachal Pradesh.
Speakers including Shri Tasi Tamin (Vice President), Shri Nong Mize (Convenor), Shri Oling Tatin, and Shri Kamin Tamut wished for the long life of AMSU and described the event as a powerful platform to strengthen unity, brotherhood, and togetherness. They expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest for supporting the Union and appealed to all members to maintain the same spirit in the days ahead. They also thanked the executive members for successfully organising the picnic.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Toram Melong, Organising Chairman and IPR Secretary, AMSU Apex, who expressed gratitude to all AMSU members from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh for their active participation. He also acknowledged the support of Shri Devro Peyang, Organising Secretary, and the Assistant Social Service Secretary, AMSU Apex.
The programme concluded with tug-of-war competitions, merry-making activities, and vibrant cultural performances, adding colour and joy to the occasion.
