QT#54 - Create Email & Teams Notifications When a Power BI Data Alert is Triggered - Power Automate

Use Power Automate to send an email to any addresses and add a task to a Teams Planner when a Power BI Data Alert is triggered.

In this video, I'll take you through the steps you need to follow to automate 2 actions when a Power BI data alert is triggered. It uses Power Automate, which is far, far easier than I expected it to be!

The first action sends an email to one or more email addresses. This gets over the limitation that out-of-the-box data alerts have i.e. you can only set them up for yourself, but allow you to set up a flow with any email addresses specified.

The second action is to add a new task to an MS Teams planner, with a custom title, description, due date.

Each of the 2 options also includes a URL to the underlying report.
