Aerial Footage of Marikina City After the devastation of Typhoon (Vamco) Ulysses | Aftermath

Typhoon Vamco (International name) also known as typhoon Ulysses in the Philippines Smashed and devastated Luzon Island.

Vamco, the 21st cyclone to hit the country this year, battered the Philippines still reeling from “Rolly” (International name: Goni), the world’s most powerful typhoon this year that killed 25 people and destroyed thousands of homes early in November.

Many residents in many areas in Luzon including Metro Manila were soaked overnight atop of their submerged houses. Water in Marikina River has reached 22 meters just one meter below the 23 meters reached when Ondoy battered the country 11 years ago and left Marikina City submerged in floodwaters for days.

As of November 14, 2020, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported 67 validated deaths, with another 12 missing, caused by the typhoon. However, other government agencies are reporting a death toll as high as 43, with at least 20 missing.
