Alexander Ovechkin who is best known as the superstar hockey player for the Washington Capitals in the NHL has snagged some pretty luxurious real estate in McLean, Virginia while renting out his former home in Arlington, Virginia. Shortly after signing his 13 years 124 million dollar contract in 2008, Alex decided to splurge by purchasing a 4.2 million dollar mansion that features over 11,000 square feet of space and 6 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms in 2012. Previously he owned a three-story, 5,000 square foot brick home which he now rents out for 7,500 dollars a month.
However, Ovechkin was the first owner of a newly built 11,000 square foot brick home and is decked out with all the luxurious amenities you’d expect from the NHL’s top scorer, including more than an acre of land decked out with a mahogany deck and cherry-paneled elevator.
