Bar Elias Hospital in Lebanon

In October 2018, MSF opened a hospital in Bar Elias that aims to increase access to secondary healthcare for vulnerable populations

The hospital provides general essential surgeries, such as hernia, haemorrhoids, gallbladder, pilonidal cysts, abscesses and other surgeries. The hospital also provides Specialised surgeries for women such as prolapsed uterus, knowing that we don’t do deliveries here.
We also have a program for chronic wound care such as diabetic feet and ulcers treatment.

In addition to these services, MSF will soon offer reconstructive plastic surgeries for post- burn injuries.

The hospital welcomes patients of all nationalities, Lebanese, Syrians and others starting from age 1 and above.

Since its opening, MSF has conducted 5,800+ consultations, 4,700+ wound care consultations and 1,000+ elective and essential surgeries.
