2008 09 10 GM DIC SVC TIRE MONITOR Dead TPMS Sensor Replacement (Chevrolet Cobalt & Pontiac G5)

Описание к видео 2008 09 10 GM DIC SVC TIRE MONITOR Dead TPMS Sensor Replacement (Chevrolet Cobalt & Pontiac G5)

In this video we will go over what the most common cause is for the SVC TIRE MONITOR error message in the Driver Information Center (DIC) when you cannot do a sensor relearn. Typically this is due to a dead Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor that has had it's battery reach end of life. When this occurs you are no longer able to relearn the defective sensor as it will not respond. The batteries are not serviceable inside the sensor, but you can DIY replace the TPMS sensor assembly itself with access to the right tools and the knowledge I will share in this video. And you will NOT need to rebalance the wheel when going from OEM parts. Once the sensor is replaced you can perform the relearn procedure as usual.

The vehicle illustrated is a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS, but the tools and approach shown would be applicable for many GM cars from 2007 onwards to 2014. Some GM vehicles also are covered thru 2017 and 2021. The particular sensor part number I show in the video is also used in the following General Motors vehicles:
