Earlier this summer we harvested our first ever modified Ruth Stout sweet potatoes (deep mulch) that we planted on top of one of our compost bins.

This was our first time attempting to grow sweet potatoes in this way, and so we knew we had a lot to learn from this experiment.

Once we got started, the growing was easy, but at harvest time we learned some of the challenges that this method presents. We think that the lessons we learned from this past season will allow us to improve this sweet potato growing method, so next season we will have a bigger harvest.
