What a great day spent in good company! We're in South Queensferry with Northern Mudlarks, Gail and Alex! It is the first time we have ventured across the river Forth in at least a year - it was so good to set foot down, again, on the southern shores of this mighty river!
After exchanging gifts - what lovelies we have to take home with us - we get onto the shore here at this ancient North/South crossing! We have some great finds as we make our way east, along the shore, towards the location of the old Ferry port... Craig takes a brief look at how Queensferry got its name and the crossings that have taken place here over the millennia. Located at the narrowest point on the River, people have dwelled in this area for at least 10,000 years - making the remains of dwellings found here the oldest in the UK.
Among the best finds of the day are vulcanite stoppers, machine made marbles, amazing sea glass - just perfectly made by the sea - a great partial bottle, which Craig takes a close look at, and an amazing large UV milkglass bead! Do not forget (as if you would) to check out #Northern Mudlarks video on Sunday for a close look at some of their great finds - we don't want to give away too many spoilers!
We had a great day! So good, we all decided to meet up again on the other side of the river and, when we can, join up with Northern Mudlarks again further South! We can't wait!
We hope you enjoyed today's video... Thank you so much!

--Update on Scotland's COVID restrictions--
We continue to follow restrictions so that we can work safely, responsibly, and legally.
Guidelines in Scotland have now changed. We are now allowed to meet outside with six others from another household.
--Our policies--
From March 2020 - May 2021, we met with no one from another household. As restrictions relax and immunization numbers increase, we will now arrange a very limited number of collaborations, all of which will take place outdoors and in keeping wiht guidelines.
We never film in a busy location.
Since March 2020 we have restricted our travel to distances that allow us to get to our location, film our content, and return home, without ever visiting local amenities, entering any buildings etc. We continue to do so.
We only film once a week, and we always do that mid-week. If we arrive in an area and people are present, we leave without getting out of the car.
Our policies are simple and entirely concerned with maintaining social distancing so that we can be safe and so that we can ensure the safety of others. We will continue to follow these policies fully, and we will cease outdoor filming altogether should government guidance change.
