Erin Morris and Her Ragdolls are an all-girl vintage jazz dance troupe based in Ann Arbor, MI. These ladies are educators, performers and ambassadors of traditional jazz dance and music. Founder and choreographer Erin Morris brought the Ragdolls together in order to enjoy some time with her most talented female peers and to explore her interest in a style of choreography that combined Josephine Baker, Eleanor Powell, and maybe just a little Martha Graham! What she discovered was a deep passion for women in the history and future of jazz dance and music. Hoping to inform and inspire, the Ragdolls have performed all the way from Ann Arbor to New Orleans and back again. Whenever possible, they perform with live music because they fervently believe in presenting and promoting the strong relationship between dancers and musicians to their audiences. They have enjoyed working with such musical talent as River Raisin Ragtime Revue, James Dapogny, Easy Street Jazz Band, Alex Belhaj, and Ben Polcer. The Ragdolls recently increased their number to 5, and they are looking forward to welcoming even more talented and jazzy girls to the flock in the near future. They are currently made up of Erin Morris, Brittany Morton, Katie Overmyer, Sara Lapan, and Elizabeth Campbell. Everywhere they go, the Ragdolls are known for their infectious spirit, confident happiness, and their dancing which is wildly fresh and wonderfully vintage.
