In no more bulging part 2 video you will progress your pelvic floor exercise program to a sitting position. If you are doing this video, you either have good control of pelvic floor muscles on supine or the prolapse is very minimal and you can start at this level versus doing the supine version on part 1.
There three major types of exercises 1) Quick Kegels or Fast Kegels with Arm movement 2) Isolated Kegels with resisted hip abduction/adduction (band/ball), 3) Facilitated pelvic floor muscle contraction exercises (resisted hip adduction and abduction) + Upper Extremity Zone Exercises (Biceps curls, Flies, Military press, Triceps Extension, Punches above the head, Punches at shoulder and Punches at level of the hips.
Remember Kegels produces a maximal contraction and promotes hypertrophy and maximal recruitment of muscle fibers, and the facilitated Kegels (band/ball) produces a submaximal contraction induced by resisted hip strengthening exercises.
Addressing Prolapse with Pelvic Floor Therapy
Pelvic floor physical therapy can help patients to prevent the progression of the prolapse. It will not reverse any anatomical damage that has already happened. It will also help patients to identify the behaviors that lead to prolapse, correct the current “bad” mechanics, increase the muscle strength on the pelvic floor muscle and the biggest changes are on the symptoms.
