A pioneering psychiatrist and neuroscientist, professor Charles Zorumski has dedicated his career at WashU Medicine to advancing and understanding and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders, including developing neurosteroid‑based therapies for mood illnesses. He founded the Taylor Family Institute for Innovative Psychiatric Research, co‑directs the Silvio O. Conte Neuroscience Center, and served 25 years as head of the Department of Psychiatry. A prolific author, and dedicated mentor, he has shaped modern psychiatric science and education at the medical school.
