Multiple video files taken from different, but static, locations can be imported into PhotoModeler. These videos can be synchronized and used to take measurements and estimate speeds. Objects and point cloud scans can be placed in one video and their location seen in others. Surface points or imported Point Clouds can be tracked and have their 3D positions established at various time frames to establish distances and speeds. These video files can be used as evidence and for accident reconstruction and car crash analysis or other forensic work.

A wide variety of video formats and codecs are support (.mp4, .mov, .mpg, .mpeg, .avi, .wmv, etc.). Video can come from any fixed or static location such as a security or surveillance camera, a parked or stopped dash camera, etc. Lens distortion effects such as fisheye or barrel distortion can be computed and accounted for.
