The Galata Tower is one of Istanbul’s most iconic visuals, overlooking Beyoglu and Karaköy from its perched position, while the colorful lights of the tower can be seen at night from all over the city.
The Galata Tower, a remnant of the Genoese colony in Istanbul, rises at the top of the Walls of Galata, at the entrance to the Golden Horn. With its cylindrical structure, the tower dominates the cityscape and is one of the most visited attractions in Istanbul.
Today, the Galata Tower is used as a museum with exhibition halls. It has a total of nine floors. Two elevators take visitors up to the seventh floor.
The Galata Tower is positioned between the Galata and Karakoy neighborhoods, close to Galataport and the Galata Bridge.
