Darryl Hill: Black Man, White Field - Comcast SportsNet Documentary

Описание к видео Darryl Hill: Black Man, White Field - Comcast SportsNet Documentary

February 2008 documentary tells the story of University of Maryland wide receiver Darryl Hill, the first African-American to play college football in the ACC. He became the first African-American to play in some of the legendary stadiums in the Deep South. He formed a lifelong bond with teammate Jerry Fishman, a tough-as-nails Jewish linebacker who defended Hill against racist taunts from opposing fans. But above all, this is the story of Hill's determination to break the ACC's color barrier and pave the way for the generations of African-Americans athletes who followed.

Interview subjects include Hill, Fishman, Lee Corso (beloved ESPN analyst who recruited Hill to Maryland) and Billy Jones (first African-American basketball player in ACC history, followed Hill at Maryland).

Produced, written and edited by Brian Brennan. Narrated by Chick Hernandez.
