Data Science Showcase: Satellite Data and Use Cases for Electric Power Environmental Issues

Описание к видео Data Science Showcase: Satellite Data and Use Cases for Electric Power Environmental Issues

Speakers: Becca Madsen and Jared Green (EPRI), and Amy Leibrand (Battelle)
Data science aspect: Reviews multiple uses of satellite data (big data) and/or applications of artificial intelligence (AI). First use case is use of a form of deep learning (U-Net) along with satellite data and LiDAR data to automate detection of wetlands. Second use case is use of high resolution satellite data and algorithms to automate detection of at-risk trees in the rights of way of distribution lines. Third presentation highlights NASA Earth Observation Data and potential uses for electric utilities. Resources noted in the webinar:
NASA StoryMap tool (NASA Earth Observations for Electric Utility Applications)
NASA Applied Remote Sensing Training (ARSET) Program
ARSET NASA Earth Observations for Energy Management training
