Since the US-led coalition withdrawal from Afghanistan over 70,000 Afghan refugees have settled in the United States. However thousands are still stuck on military bases waiting for relocation services to simply meet the massive influx of people.

Even more await asylum or visa approval in Afghanistan to finally be able to immigrate to the US. The vast majority of these refugees are those who assisted or worked with US and other coalition actors during the occupation.

Many of these asylum seekers still stuck in Afghanistan fear for their lives and their futures, and have began developing feelings of abandonment by one of their former employers, the United States Government.
