Besides doubling all the frame rates, the Hero 6's best new feature seems to be it's electronic stabilization which is significantly better than the Hero5's. I put it to the test on on my fixed wing FPV aircraft (Skyhunter) over a windy ridge.
Camera settings were
2.7K@60fps Linear FoV with in-camera Stabilization turned on.
The first clip is in mild/medium turbulence and the second is pretty severe turbulence.

Overall the stabilization is quite good, but when it rolls or yaws (pans) beyond the limits of the stabilization there's a quick glitch as it re-centers. It's usually not very big, but it's definitely noticeable in comparison to the otherwise perfectly smooth video.
I then applied some stabilization in post processing using
Medium analysis settings in Sony Vegas 10 (unfortunately later
versions of Vegas do not use the same stabilizer), and that smooths out the glitches and makes for an overall very smooth video.
