Into the Wild with Giles Norman | Dingle Edition

Описание к видео Into the Wild with Giles Norman | Dingle Edition

Giles Norman journeys towards one of his favourite places in Ireland to photograph, Dingle.

The county of Kerry is rich in stunning coastlines stretching along the Iveragh and Dingle peninsulas. Glassy banks of golden sand are juxtaposed with jagged slates of charcoal rock to create a vista full of beautiful contrasts. These welcoming strands invite strangers to fill their blank canvas with roaming footprints as they watch seagulls dance upon the surf.

Every grain of sand has a tale to tell. These beaches have seen it all. Beyond the banks of Ballinskelligs, surrounded by Atlantic tides, stand the sublime and soaring Skellig Islands, one the larger of which was home to an early Christian monastic site. Looking out from the shores of Coumeenoole beach, lie we glimpse the quiet Blasket Islands, which were once inhabited by great storytellers but now play host to vacant ruins. The Kingdom of Kerry takes pride in its ancient islands, for they are worth more than gold, – they are a journey back in time.
