Comparisons of Insulin Spending & Price Between Canada and the US

Описание к видео Comparisons of Insulin Spending & Price Between Canada and the US

Mr. Tyler Schneider, a fourth year Pharmacy Student and Dr. Mina Tadrous, an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy, both at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, share their article appearing in the March 2022, issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where they compared the trends and discrepancies in insulin drug pricing between Canada and the United States. They found the differing regulations and policies between the two countries allows for insulin prices in the United States to far surpass those in Canada. The burden of these large increases in the US have the greatest negative consequences for those patients who pay out of pocket. Schneider and Tadrous hope this information will influence policy makers to make changes to facilitate more equitable insulin costs and reduce economic burdens to patients.
