Fat Princess (PS3) - Online Gameplay (HD)

One of the highly touted PSN exclusives for the PlayStation 3, Fat Princess plays like a simplified Team Fortress-lite action game with minor strategy elements. Players assume different classes by putting on hats, most of which are usually found at your base. These hats, and classes, in turn, can be upgraded through resource gathering. The goal of the game is quite simple: Rescue your kingdom's princess, who is held captive by the opposite team. The twist, if you couldn't tell from the game's name, is that you can feed the opposing team's princess cake, fattening her up so that her would be rescuers must slowly cart her back to base.

While Fat Princess has few glaring flaws, I find the actual gameplay to be a passive experience. The combat appears hectic, yet has as much depth as a puddle. Due to the hectic pace, you often feel like you're simply throwing yourself against the enemy forces, with victories coming not from skill, but through a battle of attrition. Fat Princess also locks 3 classes away as DLC, some of which seem awfully overpowered.

Due to the shallow nature of the gameplay and DLC shenanigans, I'll only recommend Fat Princess if you can somehow get it for free or from the Best of PSN Vol. 1 disc.
