This is one of my most used pieces of kit. Hit three levers (i don’t usually use the 4th), drop the feet and hit the latches. Bam, you’re stabilized. While it’s capable of standing on its own, I wouldn’t leave it alone outside, or with a camera on top. I paired mine with the Xpro ball head, and that’s a killer combo. If I’m carrying the camera and monopod in my hands, I can be set up for a shot in a matter of seconds.

It’s not the lightest monopod you can buy, but it feels very sturdy, and it’s not too cumbersome. I feel like I could fight off hungry alligators and go golfing with this thing. The plastic latches bother me a little bit, given the robustness of everything else, but they work great and I’ve had to problems with them thus far (3 months). The levers can be tightened if they become loose with the little clip-on tool that falls off the monopod when you’re unboxing it. I’d recommend taking it off and putting it somewhere in your camera bag or pocket.
