A 49-year-old man is being held at Poole police station on suspicion of murdering missing teenager Gaia Pope (left). He has been identified by family as Paul Elsey, the son of 71-year-old Rosemary Dinch and the uncle of Nathan Elsey, 19, who were both arrested but released on suspicion of murder earlier this week. Tonight his father Greg (right) has protested his son’s innocence and slammed the police for targeting his family. He said the public would be ‘gobsmacked’ if they knew how they had been treated. Speaking outside his home, he said his son attended the police station with a solicitor before he was taken into custody. Mr Elsey’s comments come hours after her father Richard broke down in tears on TV as he said his family were 'distraught' but remain hopeful they will find her alive. A large area has been cordoned off where clothes believed to be Gaia’s were earlier found early today.
