Guyanese pepper pot| recipe


Ingredients

Pepper-pot
3 Pounds beef (meat of your choice)
1 lb beef short ribs
Greens seasoning
2 Tbsp. beef bouillon
1 onion
Cassareep
Orange peel
Star spice
1/2 cup sugar
Thyme
Cloves
Cinnamon stick
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp. salt
Habanero peppers
2 Tbsps. beef bouillon base (optional)

Mix all ingredients together with the beef or your meat of choice. Let's set for a few hours. Add 2 cups of water and cook and slow heat for about 2 hours or until meat is tender. the key is to keep tasting your pepper pot and adjust your seasoning. I added 1/4 cup of sugar green onion, star aniseed powder, and some beef bouillon. remove the orange peel and serve with plait bread or bread of your choice.
