BAROLO - WINE IN 10

Описание к видео BAROLO - WINE IN 10

The region has a warm continental climate which means that summers can be really hot and winters are generally cold. Barolo is a bit cooler than the neighboring Barbaresco zone as it is a bit higher up in altitude. In the region the exposition of the slope and the location of the vineyard have a strong impact on the microclimate – the region is varied. The region is in the North-West of Italy in the Piedmonte region south of the Alps. With its mountains, valleys, and amazing views, it is one of the most beautiful wine regions in Italy. The main differences in terms of soil are that in La Morra and Barolo we find calcareous marls – which is a mix of clay and silt. These soils are a bit richer and more fertile. In Monforte d’Alba and Serralunga d’Alba the soils contain more sandstone and are poorer. Castiglione Falletto is between the two valleys and combines both soil types. As generalization tasters say that the wines from Barolo and La Morra are more generous and soft while the wines from Monforte d’Alba and Serralunga d’Alba are more structured and mature more slowly.
