Christians are called to encourage one another to do what is right. Here, Mordecai challenges Esther to be bold and speak to the king about her people and Haman’s evil plans, even though doing so means risking death. Mordecai challenged her to do what was right. He suggested that she was God’s candidate for that moment of deliverance.
God places each Christian in a strategic place, as He did Esther, for His own purposes, sometimes for great moments of crisis like this one. God has His chosen people everywhere to carry out His plans through them. He calls us to acts of courage and empowers us to keep at the work until it is finished. However, we must be prepared even for death if that is what it takes to do God’s will (Bible Expositor and Illuminator Union Gospel Press, Summer Quarter 2024).
