🇲🇾How to Avoid Being Stranded in a Flood-Prone Town in Malaysia

I decided to go to a town in Malaysia (Sungai Lembing) that had a stranded plane that I was keen to examine.

When I got here, unexpected heavy rain had arrived, and the town center had flooded. I had to find a way out and called a driver who bravely drove through flood water to pick me up.

If you are in Malaysia you can check out this website here for flood-prone risks:

To add, locals in the town came up to my hostel, where we chatted. Some mentioned they had to swim at some point, although they were ready to stay there for the next few days until the floods receded.

Things not caught on Camera:
- I had to get some diner that night and the next restaurant was quite far away. The reception of the hostel let me borrow his motorbike, but the motorbike was a manual start which i never rode before. I had to figure out how to ride this thing, especially during the heavy rain; after a 2-minute quick introduction and 30 minutes of trying to start it myself, I was up and running using the bike.

- Recent high school graduate laughing about the ordeal, telling me how he had to swim in the water and needs a place to stay. Drenched clothes and no spare clothing or anything to dry himself. Waited at the reception until someone can help me him out. I think he subscribed to my channel, if you are here, please comment.

- Malaysian Chinese family had also came up, switching between kejia dialect, mandarin, Cantonese and English. Suggesting that we need to get use to each other for the next week, as we may not be able to get out of here till then.
