Ideal for those who are looking to build a business plan especially if you are just starting out and don't have much experience with planning a budget.

I've been working as a freelancer now for three years and think I have managed to refine my business plan fairly well, balancing the market average with my goals and the amount of time I commit to the work. As my business is really only there to pay for my academic and artistic development I'm set up to make a fairly modest living without having to worry to much about chasing tons of business.

I do advise though that I didn't start out at this level but built it up as I achieved some recognition and reputation.I thought I would address the question of 'how much should I charge as a photographer?'
Whilst I'm only covering the basics here, I thought it would be useful for those who are just starting out, or those who are not used to booking a photographer so don't understand what goes into the cost of a project and want some kind of idea what to budget for.

As a small independent photographer, I have been working full time as a photographer for three years and in that time I've managed to work with dozens of individuals and businesses providing portraiture, and event imagery for many different uses.
I'm also a published artist having been featured in Portrait of Britain, and the lead marketing image for #Edition365 both from the British Journal of Photography as well as being included in the SkyArts TV collaboration with Rankin of their 'Rankin's 2020' project.
