There is some rain in the forecast this weekend, but don't let that dampen your spirits as far as live music goes. There are some truly fine options for you to choose from over the next few days, including a special debut performance of a new valley band at Metro Hub on Friday night.

Thursday alone has some of Kelowna's very best playing, with sax player Craig Thomson hosting the weekly Jazz Jam at the RCA, the Anna Jacyszyn Trio out at Crown & Thieves, Jonathan Williams at Red Bird Brewing with Michael Stanley Edward opening, and Josh Smith at Buffalo Rouge. That's not even including The Hip Replacements ending a two-night run at The Blue Gator. And that's just the local cats.

Things continue apace on Friday when Josh Smith shifts over to Curious Cafe, Anna Jacyszyn pairs up with Neville Bowman at Vintners Grill in the Coast Capri Hotel, and Kailee Duggan is at Railside Brewing. The big show of the night, and the week really, is The Late Boomers at Metro Hub. This group of profoundly gifted seasoned musicians plays tribute to Jackson Browne and James Taylor, and they have the musical and vocal chops to pull it off.

The bars all have great local bands playing two-nighters this weekend with Linus & Kinga out at Whiski-Jacks, Mama Wheelie at The Blue Gator, and Poundsign at O'Flannigan's on Friday and Saturday.
