Los Angeles TRAVEL DAY | British Airways | LONDON HEATHROW | Downtown Disney | DISNEYLAND | Car hire

Hiya 👋 Welcome to our Los Angeles series - September 2024

Join us on this vlog for our travel day and first few ours in LA as we get right into the action immediately. ✈️

We started the day with the 2 hour drive from Bristol to London Heathrow and we parked at the long stay terminal 2/3 for the week at a cost of £106. This included a free shuttle bus to the terminal as well as the underground train as we had to complete a terminal swap on arrival as BA fly out of terminal 5 and we land back with American Airlines in terminal 3. This was really easy to navigate and we would 100% do this again.

Once inside, we completed our bag drop off and went through security at what felt like the worlds smallest security ever (think we went through the wrong one haha) Of course we shopped and then had a spoons breakfast, would be rude not too!

Boarding the BA flight was so wonderful, staff were all lovely and the flight was comfortable. Food was great, drinks flowed and snacks were banging, really pleased with our flight which came in 1 hour early! ✈️

Once we landed, boarder control was LONGGGGGG it took over an hour and it was not well thought out at all and it was just chaos. However we gained the hour in the air so all in all we arrived into LA when we thought we would but our bags were already out and on the floor waiting for us all as they needed the belt back so shows how long we were waiting!

We then took a free shuttle from LAX to the car rental (follow the purple signs to find it) and then it takes you to the lot. We rented our car through Dollar for £170 plus £57 fuel as the Uber from LAX was $100 each way plus we wanted to go into LA & Universal so we ended up saving a huge amount of money here as well as the ease! We checked in for the car online and paid the holding deposit and off we went, it was so so simple. We would use this company again. 🚙

We then immediately started our holiday by driving 40 mins from LAX to the Back to the Future house, home to the McFly's - Rhys loves this film and then over to Walt Disney's grave of which we also came across Michael Jackson's grave too - we were the only people in both locations!! It was very moving.

From here we drove roughly an hour to Downtown Disney, ✨ parking in the Simba lot where we did our first merch shop and visited the first, original Disneyland Hotel where Steph picked up her ears that she had been eyeing up. - This place is a must visit and we would recommend anyone adds this to their itinerary. It was Labor weekend and this was Sunday evening so we had to queue to get into Downtown and it was BUSY! We didn't last long consider we had been up for more than 24hours at this point.

Finally... we checked into our hotel! We stayed at a Disney partner hotel - Hyatt Regency Orange County Hotel which was divine. We loved it here and we complete a full room tour on this video. Parking was included in our hotel stay with British Airways but if it wasn't it would have cost us $30 per day which again, is another saving for us. The hotel did a return shuttle to the parks everyday for $6 per person, per day, they were always on time, good fun and again another saving as the parking in Disney is roughly $30per day too. Our day then ended here, we did not have the energy for a food shop and we were desperate to sleep. 😴💤
